Friction Fire 2: Handdrill, February 9, 2025, 10am - 4pm

$100.00

Rekindle your relationship with ancient fire and bring this ancestral technology into your everyday life. The handdrill is one of the earliest fire techniques that humankind discovered, back in the Paleolithic times. Although the technology is more simple than that of the bowdrill, the skill itself is more reliant on the human component, which requires more emphasis on form and technique. Therefore, once students learn the ins and outs of making the handdrill kit, the class focuses heavily on training effective body mechanics that lead to fire. Students will go home with an effective handdrill kit, an understanding of how to procure one from the wild in a variety of environments, and a solid collection of training exercises that lead to successful friction fire.
